Fire stick

I don't know the proper name for this plant, but everyone here calls them fire sticks. You can see why as they stay very bright orange on the ends throughout the year. It is a succulent cactus. They are very prolific so have to watch them to prevent spreading all over the place.

I was pleasantly surprised to see this one living when I returned. The cold snap last year left it lifeless with no color. Had to trim it way back. Guess they are tough to kill

The plant is Euphorbia tirucalli. Hopefully, your neighbors told you that the sap can be toxic.
