Oldest Original Tall Ship

We successfully completed the week long bike ride in the UP of Michigan. It is limited to 175 riders from through out the US and Canada. Trip was not to tough as daily miles were in the 65 mile range. Few of the days had temps in the 90's with high humidity which is highly unusual for the part of the country. Most residents do not have air conditioning as normally not needed. They were really suffering. Folks from Georgia had to wear the same clothes for many days. They had packed sweaters, gloves and long pants for the cold North.

A Tall Ship was locking through the Soo Locks when we were there. It is the oldest original tall ship still sailing. Think it was built in 1927. It was coming from Norway heading for Duluth, MN for a tall ship get together. Right before this the Arther Anderson locked through. It was the ore carrier that was following the Edmond Fritz. in the big storm that sank the Fritz. Right after that a 1000 foot ore carrier locked through. Lots of neat traffic. We also took a boat tour through the Soo Locks.

More later on other interesting things we encountered.
