When we arrived home from Washington we got word that our dear friend in Missour"a" had passed away. Wilma Bowls was 94 years old and one of the grandest people you will ever meet. We just returned last evening from the funeral. It was more of a celebration of her life, but still hard to believe she is gone.
Sheila met Wilma and her husband Russell while taking care of them when they were up for treatment in 1977. They became fast friends. I came along later but became part of the Missouri family. Russell passed away in 1996. Wilma was that tough Missouri woman, willing to try anything, no hidden agenda's when she spoke to you, great sense of humor, always willing to help others, and just a delight to be around. I would always kid her on why she put an "a" on the end of Missouri. I Said maybe Minnesota should be Minnesot"i". Told me to sush. Every time we went down to visit I knew one of the days was going to be a ritual. Pick up Wilma, go to another town to see how the old place they lived in for so many years was be taken care of, stop at the cemetery to see Russell's grave, on to Rutledge to pick up spices at Zimmermans, Get an ice cream cone, then an evening meal - lately Primos (pizza and hawkshaw ice cream). The whole family met at Primos on Thursday eve and had the same meal in her honor.
Will sure miss that lady

So sorry to hear she is gone. I know you looked forward to your trips to see her. Hope she had a grand "send-off".
Phil & Sheila, sorry your dear friend has passed. Glad, though, that your paths in life crossed so you all got to enjoy each others company.
