Our good friend's Skip and Phyl have an anniversary close to ours. We try and do something together near the date every year. With their golfing and our biking we had to wait until Oct. 7th. This year we decided to visit the National Eagle Center in Wabasha, Mn. It was a lot of fun and very informative. Facts like an eagle can turn its head 180 degrees (an owl can turn it 270), the claws have up to 1600 lbs of grip, it digests meat and bones and the fur balls only contain fur (an owl's has fur and bones), or can shoot their poop 8 feet, but mature ones rarely do. Young ones like to show off. Eagle pictured is Harriet. She has been on many TV shows including Good Morning America. Eagles at the center have all been injured and could only survive with the care they get.
After leaving the Eagle Center we visited apple orchards and ended the day with a great meal in Red Wing, Mn. Nice day with great friends.
