This is NOT Minnesota!

Sheila thinks she should have brought her snow shoes along rather than sending them to North Dakota. Needless to say we did not make it to Apache Junction as planned. 20 min. after we started out this AM the interstate came to a halt. There was a bad accident about 1 min. in front of us. Fed Ex truck and SUV tangled on very icy roads. The truck was upside down across the road in front of us. The driver in the SUV did not make it. How sad. Road was closed for 3 hours. So by the time we got to Gallup we hit the snow. Decided to call ahead and grab a motel in Holbrook, Az. Will try and get down over the rim on Sat. They are still expecting snow. They had 8 to 10 inches here and 2 feet in Show Low. We had this issue last year coming into AZ. Must be us.

Next year...tell everyone you are going to leave on a certain day, then leave a day earlier. You may be able to outwit the weather. It obviously has a strange way of knowing your itinerary. I think it is following that little gal from ND. We all know she loves the snow. :-)
