Morels

OK, on my last post we were hunting for "gold" in the forest. A few of what we found are in this pic. They are morel mushrooms. Jo fried them up for us that evening and were they ever good. Kind of interesting on why they were where we found them. In the past Jo would wash the mushrooms in water. When finished she would throw the water by these trees. Guess what - morel mushrooms. She thinks that the spores or whatever produces new morels were in the water. So in essence she was planting them. Most folks that hunt morels will not tell you where they find them. So a big thanks to Jo and Jim for treating us.
