Home away from home

We had a very enjoyable trip down to the valley (Apache Junction). Our place was ready to go when we got here. We are in a compound of 300 homes. That is small by Arizona standards. Sheila does not like me to call it a compound, said it reminded her of Jim Jones. A friend of ours said just don't drink the cool aid. In all honesty it is a very quiet gated community. Everyone is very friendly. Many are from Minnesota and have owned their place here for some time. Several diff. house styles with a southwestern theme in the community. They have a community center with heated pool and Jacuzzi. Also a library, billiards room, meeting rooms, etc. We get up and walk 3 miles every day with in the community. We hike mountains one day and bike the next. Then repeat the pattern. Picture is of our house both from the front of the house and front door. Haven't figured out how to turn the fountain on. Homeowners asked us to fill it with water once a week - that's my only responsibility. Has a patio in the front and back. If you look close you can see Sheila doing her reading thing. More pictures later of the inside and also some of our hikes. Only thing the house does not have is internet. My blogging may be hit and miss.

Just so you know - 21 F, overcast, and snow in the forecast - wish you were here.

So sad to see Sheila sitting there in shorts. We are basking in the glow of 8 inches of new snow! Great news though...Snowday today. Miss you both, Di and Chip
