Sept 19 - To the opry (No not the opera)

After finishing the BRAT we zipped over to Nashville, ate, and got our hotel rooms set up. We then headed off to the Grand Ole Opry. It is one of the premiere attractions in Nashville and if near by you need to see it. It's a very large complex with malls, museums, theaters, the Gaylord Opryland Hotel, etc. Ron and Kathy got us seats in the 3rd row so don't know who they knew, but they were great - could see the sweat fly. 2 hour show with lots of acts. Picture is the group called Riders in the Sky. They were the hosts for one of the segments. A fun evening. Ron, Kathy, and Larry left for home the next morning. Sheila and I stayed to tour downtown, the Ryman (original Opry house) and the Gaylord Hotel. Of course it was Sunday and the Tenn. Titans were in town, what a traffic mess until we got right down town. Great lunch at the famous Wild Horse Saloon. Had the game on a 15x15 foot screen. Pictures are of the Gaylord Opryland Hotel. It is immense with waterfalls, rivers, vegetation, stores, etc in the center. Gives impression you are outside, but really in an very large glass dome. Rooms start over $200 an night.
