Poetry and Punch

As many of you know I volunteer in 1st grade. The teacher (Diane) runs a tremendous program with the kids each year. It is called Poetry and Punch. All the parents, grandparents, etc are invited to the program (over 60 this year). The kids put on a program of 4 songs, 4 plays, and each child also recites a poem they have picked out. Many had it memorized. The program takes about 45 min. and it is run entirely by the kids. Diane goes to the back of the presentation room. The kids come in on their own and sit in the front. One of the kids is the emcee and gets the program running and away they go. The program is followed by the children serving the adults cookies and punch. If you want to see parents in tears of joy just come to this program.
